Capital Markets Summer Analyst Program: Europe
The Capital Markets Division summer analyst program is a ten-week program in which you are trained and placed into two five-week rotations in either Equities, Fixed Income or Capital Markets Prime Services. In addition to receiving the initial training, you will also have the opportunity to attend presentations and networking events throughout the summer which will enable you to learn more about the different groups in the divisions and meet colleagues across different areas of the Firm. At the end of the summer, full-time generalist offers are made based on the feedback gathered throughout the summer.
Rotation And Group Placement Process
Before beginning the summer program, you are asked to complete a placement questionnaire and rank, in order of preference, the areas in Equities, Fixed Income and Capital Markets Prime Services in which you are interested in working in during the summer. Placement decisions are made by the Capital Markets program management and recruiting teams and are based on business demands and your preferences.
Feedback And Review Process

As a summer analyst, you will receive a formal performance review at both the midway point and at the end of the summer program. The purpose of the mid-term performance review is for you to receive developmental feedback on your performance and to gain a clear understanding of what you need to do to receive a full-time offer. At the end of the summer, you will receive a final review and will learn whether you will receive an offer to join the Firm as a full-time analyst.
The best feedback, however, is provided on the job. We encourage you to work with your business managers and colleagues to obtain regular feedback on your performance.
Mobility Opportunities
If you receive and accept a full-time generalist offer for the Capital Markets analyst program, it is important to note that where you spend your summer is not necessarily reflective of where you will be placed as a full-time analyst. For this reason, we encourage you to cultivate your interests and visit other desks during your summer program.
Mentorship Programs
As a summer analyst, you are assigned a buddy and a mentor to help guide you through your experience at Lehman Brothers, and integrate you into the Firm as quickly as possible. Your buddy is someone who can provide you with answers to basic questions and guide you through your day-to-day experience throughout the summer. Your mentor is a more senior individual who can help you identify developmental areas and take appropriate action to address those areas.
