How To Apply
The process for applying to our analyst and associate programs is consistent worldwide. The first step is to submit your resume/CV with a cover letter. Candidates who are selected from the applicant pool typically go through two or more rounds of interviews before reaching the offer stage.
Submitting An Application
If Lehman Brothers has an on-campus presence at your school, please consult the Lehman Brothers recruiter or your career placement office for information on next steps and your school's specific deadlines. If Lehman Brothers does not visit your campus, we encourage you to submit your application online.
Applying To More Than One Division Or Region
You may apply to positions in more than one division via our online application form, but keep in mind that if you are asked to interview, you will need to commit to only one division. Therefore, the more you know about each division before applying, the better.
You may also apply to positions in more than one region via our online application form, but we ask that you consider the personal and professional implications involved before applying to positions in a given region. You will eventually be asked to commit to one location as you progress through the interview process.
Confidentiality
All applications are treated with the utmost confidentiality in accordance with Lehman Brothers policies. The information you provide is used only for employment purposes.
The Interview Process
We extend interview invitations either by telephone or e-mail. Make sure you regularly check the inbox of the e-mail address listed on your resume/CV. Also, make sure you notify us if your contact information changes.
If you are not invited back for further interviews at any stage of the interview process, please consider your application unsuccessful for that year. Applying to Lehman Brothers is highly competitive, and we are able to extend only a limited number of offers each year.
First-Round Interviews
First-round interviews are usually conducted either on campus or in our offices. In some cases, an initial screening round may take place on the phone. The first-round interview is typically exploratory in nature and is designed to assess a wide range of attributes.
Final-Round Interviews
The second-round interviews are usually the final round. Interviewers are typically senior members of the division for which you are being considered.
An additional round of interviews may be required in specific cases.
Offers
Once a full-time offer is extended, we encourage you to reach out to the people you have met during the recruiting process to ask any questions you may have. We want to ensure that you make a well-informed decision — one that is right for you and for Lehman Brothers.
If you receive an “exploding offer” from another company, please let us know. We will do everything we can to expedite the process so that you can make an informed decision.
Once you have accepted an offer from us, stay in contact with the Lehman Brothers people that you have met. They will ensure that you are warmly welcomed into our Firm and help you get off to a great start.
