Investment Management Summer Associate Program

The Investment Management Division (IMD) summer associate program is a ten-week experience, which begins in June with a three-day training program. We offer two slightly different investment management summer associate experiences: a generalist program and a direct placement program. Our generalist summer program enables you to experience two five-week rotations through two of the business groups in the Division. Alternatively, our direct placement summer program hires summer associates for a single, specific job in which they will work the entire ten weeks.

As a summer associate, you will gain experience in three broad areas:

Rotation And Group Placement Process

The generalist summer associate rotations are five weeks each and will be assigned based on each associate’s preference, balanced against the business needs of the groups. The direct placement summer associates are informed of their specific placement at the time offers are extended.

Feedback And Review Process

Our summer associate review process consists of two performance reviews. The purpose of the review process is for you to receive developmental feedback on your performance and to gain a clear understanding of what you need to do in order to receive a full-time offer.

Performance reviews take place twice during the summer and are communicated by the summer associate program managers.

The summer associate program managers serve as your mentors and advisors, and provide you with regular feedback and career guidance.

Mentorship Programs

As a summer associate, you are assigned a senior associate mentor to help you navigate the Division and help you expand your internal network. Furthermore, regular social events throughout the ten-week program also enable you to network with colleagues across different areas of the Firm.
