Advancement Process And Timeline

In accordance with Firm and divisional policies, you will be promoted based on outstanding demonstrated skills, performance, leadership potential and values.

Mobility Opportunities

Lehman Brothers supports mobility across divisions and regions. If you are interested in pursuing other opportunities within the IT Division or throughout the Firm, you are encouraged to speak with your manager or your Human Resources generalist. In general, you must be in your current role for at least one year and have demonstrated strong performance in order to transfer within the Firm.

Mentorship Programs

Our focus on mentoring — at all levels of your career — is one of the cultural traits that distinguishes Lehman Brothers. You are assigned a buddy, who serves as a point of contact for you during your first few weeks in the program. You will also have an opportunity to participate in a broader mentoring program across the IT group.

Training

Initial training typically begins in July of each year, and the curriculum includes the following modules:

Instructors include both Lehman Brothers speakers and third-party consultants. You will spend the last five weeks of training on a final project sponsored by a Lehman technology group. The project is designed to integrate all aspects of your training and help ease the transition into your future technology group.

The training culminates with a formal presentation for the CIO and other IT senior managers discussing the architecture, business requirements, and development challenges of the project.

Additional training you will receive as an IT analyst includes: technical, project management and business analysis skills classes, and a wide array of capital markets training.
