Encore®
The Lehman Brothers Encore® program ("Encore") is the Firm's global initiative designed to facilitate networking and professional development opportunities for individuals interested in resuming their careers in the financial services industry. Ideal candidates are women and men, preferably with industry-related experience at a vice-president level or above, who have voluntarily left the workforce for a year or more.
There are currently 36 Encore hires employed at Lehman Brothers globally: 19 in the United States, 13 in Europe and 4 in Asia.
To date, Lehman Brothers has hosted multiple informational networking events in New York, London, Hong Kong and Tokyo. These events were attended by former Lehman Brothers employees as well as individuals with experience at other financial institutions. Encore event participants interested in employment with the Firm have subsequently pursued specific positions, resulting in multiple full-time and flexible schedule offers being accepted.
Encore is an outgrowth of the "Off-Ramps and On-Ramps" study, published in March 2005 by the Harvard Business Review. This study, co-sponsored by Lehman Brothers, focused on the challenges women face as they strive to re-enter the workforce after having taken time off to have children, care for elderly family members, or address other life responsibilities.

2007 Events
Events scheduled during the latter half of 2007 included the second annual event in London on October 10, and the third annual event in New York on November 13. Both events had a significant turnout with 66 candidates attending the New York event and 64 candidates in attendance at the London event.
