Our Equities Division
The Execution Services business focuses on selling and trading traditional equity securities.
Execution Services product groups include:
Sales-Trading- Sales-traders act as intermediaries between our clients and our traders and are usually the main point of contact for our clients. Sales-traders ensure we provide competitive pricing and efficient execution.
Trading- Trading provides two client-facing functions: trading on an agency basis and using the Firm's capital to facilitate trades. Our trading franchise is sector-based; traders work closely with our sales force and research analysts to generate ideas for clients trading within specific industry sectors. The role of an equity trader is continually evolving, requiring sector expertise and multi-product knowledge.
Electronic Trading- The Electronic Trading group provides clients with electronic access to the global equity markets while developing a wide range of sophisticated trading tools and analytics to enhance electronic trading capabilities.
Program Trading- A program refers to a portfolio ("basket") of stocks that trades simultaneously. Program trading allows investors to implement investment strategies across multiple markets. The Programs team is comprised of members from Marketing, Sales-Trading, Trading, Quantitative Analytics and Research.
Transition Management- Transition Management coordinates the analysis, execution and implementation of multi-asset restructurings. The business provides effective cost and risk management for asset owners looking to reposition their portfolios.
Event-Driven- The Event-Driven desk operates across all products and focuses on event-driven scenarios such as risk arbitrage situations involving mergers and acquisitions of publicly traded companies, special situations, spin-offs, stub trades and share class trades.
Quantitative Analytics- The Quantitative Analytics team provides superior analytics, formulates trading strategies and designs automated execution engines for both external and internal use.
Desk-Based Analytics- The Desk-Based Analytics team expands the division's risk capabilities using fundamental stock, sector and event analysis to identify trends, opportunities and risks. The team integrates analysis across all levels of capital commitment, primarily market making and proprietary positions.
