Capital Markets Finance plays an integral role in Capital Markets' overall management and decision-making process. As chief financial officers of their respective business areas, the team is responsible for maintaining a strong internal control environment, and for identifying and implementing analysis to enhance profitability and optimize risk and capital. Additionally, the team leverages partnerships with other support groups to maximize process efficiencies and strengthen internal controls.

The roles and responsibilities of team members include the following:
- Providing daily P&L analysis and reporting.
- Verifying inventory valuations.
- Ensuring the appropriateness of valuation adjustments that adhere to globally consistent standards.
- Ensuring, in conjunction with Risk Management, that appropriate models are used to value derivative transactions.
- Interfacing with internal and external accountants, auditors and regulators.
- Providing value-added analyses that drive good business decision-making.
