Lehman Brothers Merchant Banking (LBMB) investments are managed by the following principals, whose responsibilities include the identification, review, structuring, analysis and oversight of capital investments. The principals collectively have over 150 years of experience in private equity and 120 years at Lehman Brothers. They have developed expertise in all aspects of principal investment, acquisitions and financing, and work with a team of 18 dedicated investment professionals. All significant decisions concerning investments are made collectively by the Lehman Brothers Merchant Banking team members and are subject to the Firm's rigorous institutional evaluation and review process.

Charles Ayres
Global Head of Merchant Banking (New York)

Charles Ayres is the global head of Lehman Brothers Merchant Banking and a managing director of Lehman Brothers. Mr. Ayres joined LBMB in 2003, and has over 19 years of private equity experience. Mr. Ayres was a founding partner of MidOcean Partners, a private equity investment firm formed in February 2003, and, prior to that, was head of DB Capital Partners North America (Deutsche Bank AG) and a member of the DB Americas Regional Executive Committee, where he was responsible for overseeing $1.2 billion of investments and managing the 25-member investment team. Prior to DB Capital, he was a managing partner at McCown De Leeuw & Co., Inc., a $1.2 billion private equity fund. From 1987 to 1991, he was a managing partner at HMA Investments, Inc., a private investment firm focused on middle-market management buyouts. He also worked in the Mergers and Acquisitions department at Lazard Freres & Co. and the Corporate Finance group at Kidder, Peabody & Co. He is currently on the board of the Lennox Hill Neighborhood House and the Special Projects Committee of Memorial Sloan Kettering Hospital and is an active member of YPO, the Young Presidents' Organization, Gotham Chapter. Mr. Ayres holds an M.B.A. from the Tuck School of Business of Dartmouth College and a B.A. in economics magna cum laude from Duke University.

Javier Bañon
Managing Director (London)

Javier Bañon is a principal of Lehman Brothers Merchant Banking, a managing director of Lehman Brothers and a member of the Firm’s Investment Management Division's Europe and Middle East Operating Committee. Prior to joining LBMB in 2004, Mr. Bañon was a managing director of DB Capital Partners, responsible for the origination, execution, oversight and monetization of private equity transactions in Latin America. Prior to DB Capital Partners, Mr. Bañon was chief financial officer of International Fierro Group, a privately owned group with industrial and financial operations throughout Spain, the United States and Latin America. Prior to that, he was deputy general manager of Serpeska Group, a Spanish group dedicated to food processing and distribution. Mr. Bañon also acted as attorney at law for Serpeska Group and other companies and individuals, and has worked on cases in commercial, labor and criminal matters, and cases before the Spanish Supreme Court. Mr. Bañon is currently a director of Patentes Talgo S.A, Sener Aero S.A., and the Lehman Brothers Foundation Europe. Mr. Bañon holds a degree in law and business administration from the Universidad Pontificia de Comillas (ICADE) in Spain.

Alessandro M. Boninsegna
Senior Vice President (London)

Alessandro M. Boninsegna is a principal of Lehman Brothers Merchant Banking and a senior vice president of Lehman Brothers. Mr. Boninsegna joined LBMB in 1997 in London and was based in New York from 1999 to 2001. Prior to joining LBMB, Mr. Boninsegna worked as a management consultant at Bain & Co. in Milan, Italy, and, prior to that, as a certified public accountant in the international law and accounting firm Haarmann Hemmelrath in Munich, Germany. He is currently a director of the Spumador Group. Mr. Boninsegna holds a B.A. in business administration magna cum laude from Bocconi University in Italy. Mr. Boninsegna is fluent in German and Italian.

Joseph C. Cohen
Managing Director (London)

Joseph C. Cohen is a principal of Lehman Brothers Merchant Banking, a managing director of Lehman Brothers and a member of the Firm’s Investment Management Division's Europe and Middle East Operating Committee. Mr. Cohen joined LBMB in 1996. Prior to joining LBMB, Mr. Cohen was a member of Lehman Brothers Corporate Finance team based in Paris, New York and London. He joined Lehman Brothers in 1988. Mr. Cohen is currently a director of Medi-Clinic, Mirror International Holdings, Industria de Turbo Propulsores (ITP), the Spumador Group and MW Brands SAS. Mr. Cohen holds a BSc. degree in economics from the London School of Economics.

Giacinto D’Onofrio
Senior Vice President (London)

Giacinto D’Onofrio is a principal of Lehman Brothers Merchant Banking and a senior vice president of Lehman Brothers.  Mr. D’Onofrio joined LBMB in 2008 and is responsible for the sourcing, transacting and monitoring of private equity transactions, focusing on Italy.  Prior to joining LBMB, he spent nine years in Lehman Brothers’ Investment Banking group, participating in various Italian transactions.  Mr. D’Onofrio received his undergraduate degree in economics summa cum laude from Luiss University in Italy.

Murat Erkurt
Managing Director (London)

Murat Erkurt is a principal of Lehman Brothers Merchant Banking and a managing director of Lehman Brothers. Mr. Erkurt started in Lehman Brothers in 1994 as part of the Mergers and Acquisitions group in London. He joined LBMB in 1995 in New York. Between 2000 and 2003, Mr. Erkurt was responsible for establishing and managing Lehman Brothers' European Venture Capital group based in London. He has served on the Investment Committees for the North American Venture Capital Fund, Communications Fund and European Venture Capital Fund. Mr. Erkurt is currently a director of Patentes Talgo S.A. Mr. Erkurt holds an M.B.A. from Columbia Business School and an MSc. in electrical engineering from Northeastern University.

E. Daniel James
Head of Merchant Banking North America (New York)

E. Daniel James is head of Merchant Banking North America and a managing director of Lehman Brothers. Mr. James joined LBMB in 1996. Prior to joining LBMB, he was a member of the Firm's Mergers and Acquisitions group based in London and New York. In 1988, Mr. James joined Lehman Brothers Financial Institutions group. He is currently a director of Blount International, Inc., Phoenix Brands LLC, Flagstone Reinsurance Holdings, Ltd. and Delos Insurance Company. Mr. James holds a B.A. in chemistry from the College of the Holy Cross.

Tyhoa Kobler
Senior Vice President (Hong Kong)

Tyhoa Kobler is a principal of Lehman Brothers Merchant Banking and a senior vice president of the Firm. Prior to joining Lehman Brothers in 2007, Ms. Kobler spent eight years working in London for DB Capital Partners, the private equity division of Deutsche Bank, followed by TDR Capital, a pan-European private equity fund of which she was a founding partner. Ms. Kobler holds a B.A. in economics and English literature from Wellesley College and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.

Bert Kwan
Vice President (Hong Kong)

Bert Kwan is a principal of Lehman Brothers Merchant Banking and a vice president of the Firm. Mr. Kwan joined the Private Equity department of Lehman Brothers in 1997 and is currently responsible for sourcing and executing control, growth equity and other types of investments in Asia-Pacific. He previously was an investment professional in Lehman Brothers' U.S. buyout and venture capital businesses. Mr. Kwan holds a J.D. from Yale Law School and an A.B. from Princeton University.

Grégory Lambertie
Vice President (London)

Grégory Lambertie is a principal of Lehman Brothers Merchant Banking and a vice president of Lehman Brothers.  Prior to joining LBMB in 2007, Mr. Lambertie worked in investment banking at Lehman Brothers in London. He spent four years in the Mergers and Acquisitions department, specializing in French transactions, and two years in the Consumer group.  Mr. Lambertie is a graduate from HEC School of Management in Paris and holds a B.A. in public service from the Institut d’Etudes Politiques de Paris.

Stephen L. Lessar
Vice President (New York)

Stephen L. Lessar is a principal of Lehman Brothers Merchant Banking and a vice president of Lehman Brothers. Before joining LBMB in 2006, Mr. Lessar was at Goldman Sachs, where he worked in the Private Equity group and, prior to that, in the Industrials group within investment banking. From 1995 to 1998, he served as an officer in the U.S. Army. Mr. Lessar holds an M.B.A. from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and a B.S. from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point.

William J. Lovejoy
Managing Director (New York)

William J. Lovejoy is a principal of Lehman Brothers Merchant Banking and a managing director of Lehman Brothers. Prior to joining LBMB in 2007, Mr. Lovejoy worked as a principal at Bain Capital from 2003 to 2006. Prior to joining Bain Capital, Mr. Lovejoy was a managing director of DB Capital Partners, the private equity arm of Deutsche Bank. Earlier in his career, he worked for Castle Harlan, The Boston Consulting Group and Wasserstein Perella & Co. Mr. Lovejoy received an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School, where he was a Baker Scholar, and a B.S.E. from the University of Michigan.

Jeremy A. Lynch
Vice President (New York)

Jeremy A. Lynch is a principal of Lehman Brothers Merchant Banking and a vice president of Lehman Brothers.  Mr. Lynch re-joined Lehman Brothers in 2005, having worked as an analyst and associate in LBMB from 1999 to 2003.  Mr. Lynch holds an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School and a B.S. magna cum laude in applied mathematics from Union College.

Michael Madar
Senior Vice President (London)

Michael Madar is a principal of Lehman Brothers Merchant Banking and a senior vice president of Lehman Brothers. Prior to joining LBMB in 1999, Mr. Madar worked in investment banking at Lehman Brothers in the Mergers and Acquisitions group based in London and, prior to that, at UBS Warburg in the Corporate Finance department based in Paris. Mr. Madar is currently a director of MW Brands SAS. He is a graduate from HEC School of Management in Paris. Mr. Madar is fluent in French.

James H. Manges
Vice President (New York)

James H. Manges is a principal of Lehman Brothers Merchant Banking and a vice president of Lehman Brothers. Prior to joining LBMB in 2008, Mr. Manges was a vice president in private equity at Lazard Alternative Investments where he worked from 2003. Prior to that, he was a private equity analyst at Capital Associates Development Corp. Mr. Manges holds an M.B.A. from Columbia Business School and a B.A. cum laude from Yale University.

Christopher R. Manning
Managing Director (Hong Kong)

Christopher R. Manning is a principal of Lehman Brothers Merchant Banking and a managing director of Lehman Brothers. He currently serves as the head of Lehman Brothers Investment Management Division in Asia-Pacific. Mr. Manning joined the Natural Resources group of Lehman Brothers in 1997 and joined LBMB in 2000. Prior to joining Lehman Brothers, Mr. Manning was the chief financial officer of The Wing Group, a developer of international power projects. Before The Wing Group, Mr. Manning was in the investment banking department of Kidder, Peabody & Co. where he worked on M&A and corporate finance transactions. Mr. Manning is currently a director of Antero Resources and is an observer on the board of Enduring Resources, LLC. Mr. Manning holds an M.B.A. from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and a B.B.A. from the University of Texas at Austin.

Jon E. Mattson
Managing Director (New York)

Jon E. Mattson is a principal of Lehman Brothers Merchant Banking and a managing director of Lehman Brothers. Prior to joining LBMB in 2007, Mr. Mattson joined Investcorp in 2003 from DB Capital Partners, where he had worked as a director since 1999. Prior to DB Capital Partners, Mr. Mattson was a vice president at J.P. Morgan for four years. He has also previously held associate positions at Goldman Sachs and A.T. Kearney. Mr. Mattson holds a master's degree in management, finance and strategy from Northwestern University, and a B.Sc. in commerce and finance from the University of Virginia.

Charles C. Moore
Managing Director (New York)

Charles C. Moore is a principal of Lehman Brothers Merchant Banking and a managing director of Lehman Brothers. Prior to joining LBMB in 2008, Mr. Moore worked at The Carlyle Group from 2005 to 2008, where he was a managing director. Prior to joining Carlyle, Mr. Moore was a managing director of Perseus, LLC, the Washington-based private equity firm. Earlier in his career, Mr. Moore practiced law at Williams & Connolly, clerked at the Supreme Court of the United States, and worked in strategy consulting at McKinsey & Company and Mercer Management Consulting. Mr. Moore holds an A.B. magna cum laude from Princeton University, an M.St. from the University of Oxford, and a J.D. from Stanford Law School, where he was a Nathan Abbott Scholar.

Sanjay Nandi
Vice President (London)

Sanjay Nandi is a principal of Lehman Brothers Merchant Banking and a vice president of the Firm. Prior to joining LBMB in 2007, he was a member of the Lehman Brothers Mergers and Acquisitions department in London, which he joined in 2003. Mr. Nandi spent six years at Arthur Andersen in the corporate finance and tax practices group based in India between 1995 and 2001, where he qualified as a chartered accountant. He holds an M.B.A. from London Business School and a B.A. with Honors in economics from St Stephen’s College, Delhi.

Edward Park
Managing Director (New York)

Edward Park is a principal of Lehman Brothers Merchant Banking and a managing director of Lehman Brothers.  Prior to joining LBMB in 2008, Mr. Park was a founding and co-managing partner of BlackRock’s private equity business and a managing director of BlackRock, Inc. from 2006 to 2007. Prior to joining BlackRock, Mr. Park was a principal at Lindsay Goldberg & Bessemer, where he led the firm’s European investment effort, and at its predecessor Bessemer Holdings from 1994 to 2005. Earlier in his career, he worked for Morgan Stanley in the M&A department and in the Technology group.  Mr. Park earned a B.S. summa cum laude in economics, with a concentration in finance, from The Wharton School and a B.S. summa cum laude in the biological basis of behavior, neural systems from the School of Arts and Sciences of the University of Pennsylvania, where he was a Benjamin Franklin Scholar.

Kalaya Uahwatanasakul

Kalaya Uahwatanasakul is a principal of Lehman Brothers Merchant Banking and a vice president of Lehman Brothers.  Prior to joining LBMB in 2007, Ms. Uahwatanasakul spent three years at Lehman Brothers’ Principal and Structured Finance group and two years at ChrysCapital, an India-focused private equity fund.  Ms. Uahwatanasakul holds an M.B.A. from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and an A.B. from Harvard University.

Wolf D. Wolfsteiner
Managing Director (London)

Wolf D. Wolfsteiner is a principal of Lehman Brothers Merchant Banking and a managing director of Lehman Brothers.   Mr. Wolfsteiner joined LBMB in 2007 and is responsible for the sourcing, transacting and monitoring of private equity transactions, focusing on German-speaking countries.  He is a member of the Investment Management Division Operating Committee.  Prior to joining the Firm, Mr. Wolfsteiner worked at 3i Buyouts, ABN AMRO Capital, Gallus–Van Lier and Gemini Consulting.  Mr. Wolfsteiner received his undergraduate degree in economics from the University of Bonn  and an M.B.A. from the University of Passau, both in Germany, and a Ph.D. from the University of St. Gallen in Switzerland.

Li Zhang
Senior Vice President (New York)

Li Zhang is a principal of Lehman Brothers Merchant Banking and a senior vice president of Lehman Brothers. Prior to joining LBMB in 2000, Ms. Zhang worked in public accounting at KPMG in the audit and tax practices based in New York. Ms. Zhang holds an M.B.A. from the Leonard N. Stern School of Business of New York University and a B.S. magna cum laude in accounting from Binghamton University. Ms. Zhang is a certified public accountant and is fluent in Mandarin Chinese.
