Philanthropy

Through its philanthropic activities, Lehman Brothers seeks to support innovative not-for-profit organizations that work to advance quality healthcare, promote excellence in the arts and culture, and educate and help meet the needs of underprivileged children and youth.

We believe that working together toward these goals will enrich the experience of working at the Firm and strengthen our relationships with all our constituents — our community, our people, our clients and our shareholders.

Our philanthropy is most powerful when it taps the combined potential of the Firm and its employees. We are committed to partnering with employees to maximize this potential. We leverage all the Firm's resources through our philanthropy, including foundation and corporate grants, employee gift matching, in-kind donations, employee expertise and involvement, volunteerism, and not-for-profit board service.

The Lehman Brothers Foundation makes grants in the Americas, Asia-Pacific and of global scope. It focuses on projects that serve underprivileged children and youth, address healthcare issues, support artistic and cultural vibrancy and, as necessary, provide emergency relief.

The Lehman Brothers Foundation Europe makes grants in the U.K., Continental Europe and the Middle East. While focusing on children's health projects and educational programs for underprivileged youth, the Lehman Brothers Foundation Europe also partners with cultural organizations that enrich the quality of life in our communities.
